Music Festival Fan's Thoughts - FestivalFamily.com
Nerissa Love Sun
My spiritual path began when I choose to incarnate into my physical body. As a young child I felt deeply connected to nature and plant spirits. I can remember at four years old when my family took me out west to Mesa Verde National Park. The land felt like it was talking to me. For being such a young child my memory is still strong of that day and the feeling of being connected to everything. For me that was the start of many awakenings to come in my journey called life. As I began to grow, there was a growing sense within me; I knew I had great purpose for being here on the Earth. When I was about eight I can remember sitting in our family garden touching and talking to the plants. Before I would enter the garden I would remove my shoes, just to feel the cold earth on my feet. My heart felt connected to a great energy. Today I can relate that experience to a music festival. The artist plays the music giving its energy to those open to hearing it. Then in return we sing and dance in joy giving back to the artist and it moves our souls. When I was twelve years old I received my conformation at a Catholic school. When the Priest came in, he had us all sit in a big circle. He told us to close our eyes and to focus on our breath. Within a moments time everything seemed to stop and all I could hear was my heart beat. As I fell deeper and deeper into this conscious state, I had a vision of a man filled with light holding me in his arms. My body felt light as a feather and I felt like I was awake from a long sleep. When I came back to the room and my body I felt different. Something magical happened!

This Darkness Has To Give
As good as the music was in DC, there was a light that shined even brighter than the music. The love and support of friends and family. I left the NC show on my way to DC with a sadness that began to creep up on me from He's Gone at the NC show. Fortunately, the love and support from the community provided a safety net for me to move forward from.
A Day of Resurrection, Renewal and Rebirth
Opening night was the rebirth and resurrection of spirit, family, community and all the things we love about Jam.
Thoughts From The Road
A Story From The Hamptons
A few weeks before the Hampton shows, I was networking on a few message boards to advocate the contests and ticket giveaways we were doing on Doctortrip.com and FestivalFamily.com. I had the pleasure of being introduced to many new friends, however, two people that radically changed me forever.
What is the Jamband Community?
I think this is something that is nearly impossible to define so rather than trying to define it, I am going to tell a story of one of my experiences.
